the Sandhill Regional Library System
The Sandhill Regional Library System is in its
42nd year of library administration for our five counties. SRLS
currently has fifteen libraries, two bookmobiles, and one Web on
Wheels Bus delivering library services to our Sandhill citizens.
The Sandhill Regional Library System has a history
of award winning service. Over the years, SRLS has won more than
20 State and National Awards for programs and leadership. Two of
our Trustees have received the North Carolina Trustee of the Year
Award and one was honored with American Library Association National
Honor of Trustee of the year. Three Senators and a Representative
from our area have won the NC Public Library Association Distinguished
Service Award. The SRLS Director won the ALA Public Library Association
Allie Beth Martin Award for Library Excellence.
Awards for service and individuals are possible
only by continually bringing good people into our library family,
on staff , on boards and new library customers such as you. SRLS
has a proud tradition in rural librarianship maintained by constant
training of staff to better serve our communities and by leadership
and advocacy of our Regional Board and recommendations and advice
of our local boards, all of whom advocate for libraries.
